Alexi Laiho's final musical output will come in the form of the Bodom After Midnight EP Paint The Sky With Blood due out April 23. The EP was meant to be the first release of many from Bodom After Midnight, but unfortunately became the last thing we'd hear from Laiho, who passed away in late 2020.
"Like ourselves, Alexi was beyond stoked about these songs and anxious to get these out so we are happy that we can fulfill his wish," said the band. "Needless to say that we are honored and proud to be a part of his very last creative work and unleash it the way he wanted it to. It’s time to let the beast out of the cage one more time as a celebration of Alexi’s music, legacy and the man himself."
Paint The Sky With Blood features two new tracks alongside a cover of "Where Dead Angels Lie" by Dissection, and showcases artwork done by the legendary Travis Smith (Amorphis, Nevermore, Opeth, etc.).
