Guns N Roses have been mum on their summer touring plans and how they plan to deal with the ongoing pandemic. They were set to kick of their tour later this month in Europe, but those dates have now officially been postponed (or possibly canceled, it's not clear).
Here's the announcement the band just posted:
"GN'R Fam: Sadly the upcoming European tour will not be happening. Things are changing daily and we want to keep our fans, crew members and band safe. We are working hard with our promoters, venues and cities/countries on next steps and will make further announcements as soon as we can."
"Thank you for your patience. We will get through this together and look forward to seeing you all very soon …"
The tour was set to kick off May 20 in Lisbon, Portugal, and wrap up five weeks later on June 27 in Dublin, Ireland. Here are the dates that have been canceled:
May 20 Lisbon Passeio Maritimo De Algés, Portugal May 23 Seville Estadio Benito Villamarin, Spain May 26 Munich Olympiastadion, Germany May 29 London Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, UK June 02 Hamburg Volksparkstadion, Germany June 06 Solvesborg Sweden Rock Festival, Sweden June 09 Vienna Ernst Happel Stadium, Austria June 12 Firenze Firenze Rocks Festival, Italy June 14 Berne Stade de Suisse. Switzerland June 17 Warsaw PGE Narodowy, Poland June 19 Prague Letnany Airport, Czech Republic June 21 Landgraaf Pinkpop Festival, Holland June 27 Dublin Marlay Park Concert Series, Ireland
As of this writing, the summer U.S. tour dates have not been officially postponed, but it's safe to say Axl is not going to be hitting the road anytime soon. Interestingly, one of the last concerts to take place since lockdown started was GNR playing a Mexican festival, despite virus concerns.
Here are their US dates. It's safe to assume these will be, at the least, postponed.
